Creative Uses for Corrugated Cardboard

Terry Lambert

Corrugated cardboard boxes, whether new or used, can be used for a variety of things other than storing items. Let’s put our creative thinking caps on and come up with some innovative ways to use these sturdy boxing treasures. What you will need To make any of the items mentioned in this article, you will need some basic tools and accessories. Tools and accessories include a heavy-duty stapler and staples, utility knife, knobs, contact paper, ruler or measuring tape, screws, hole puncher, screwdriver, duct tape, and scissors. That is it. If you do not have these items available, you can get them for cheap at your local thrift store. You can also purchase them for your own tool collection. Tool collections come in handy. Companies that sell corrugated cardboard also sell a variety of boxing accessories or tools. Check with your local company to find out what is available. Furniture Corrugated cardboard can make durable and cheap furniture. Most budget-minded individuals, especially college students, understand this. Go to your local department store and notice how much cheaply priced furniture is made from corrugated cardboard. Check out diagrams to get an idea about the item’s construction. This aids the construction process. * Consider making a chest of drawers from used corrugated cardboard. This piece of furniture is ideal for holding clothing or office supplies. Heavier clothing requires heavier cardboard. Heavy cardboard keeps the center of the drawer from sagging. Three to four drawers is a perfect size for this piece of furniture. Use a hole puncher to place holes in the cardboard for the knobs. Once the knob is in place, secure it with a screw. * Night stands, those wonderful furniture pieces that go alongside your bed, are another piece of furniture that can be made from corrugated cardboard. Basically, a nightstand is…
